Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 2026
This privacy policy applies to the website argus.money and to the Argus Money app for iPhone and Android. In short: Argus is built so that your financial data never leaves your phone. There is no user account, no bank connection, no advertising, and no tracking.

2. The Argus app
2.1 Data you enter in the app
Entries (amount, category, date, time), categories, dream goals including the photos you choose for them, recurring entries, your net salary, your working hours, your learning progress in the Money Compass, and your settings are stored only locally on your device. We do not receive this data and cannot view it. There is no user account and no transfer to our servers.
This data may be part of your device backup (iCloud Backup on Apple devices or Google backup on Android) if you have turned on backups in your device settings. Apple’s or Google’s privacy policies apply to these backups.
You can delete this data at any time via “Reset app data” in your profile. It is also removed when you delete the app.
2.2 Money Compass and Employer match check content
So that new lessons and up-to-date information for the Employer match check can appear without an app update, the app downloads this content from our server argus.money. No data from the app is transmitted in the process. As with any request to a web address, the server necessarily processes your IP address, the date and time, and the requested file (see Section 3.1). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is providing you with up-to-date content.
2.3 Voice entry
Voice entry is optional and only starts when you trigger it yourself. It requires access to your device’s microphone and speech recognition.
- iPhone: Where your device supports it, speech recognition takes place directly on the device. Otherwise, Apple processes the recording in accordance with Apple’s terms. The recognized sentence is interpreted on the device.
- Android: The app uses your device’s speech recognition service, usually provided by Google. Depending on your device settings, the recording may be sent to and processed by Google. Google’s privacy policy applies.
We receive neither recordings nor recognized text.
2.4 Place reminders (iPhone only)
If you turn on this feature in your profile, the app uses iOS Location Services to detect that you have left a shop and sends you a notification asking whether you spent anything. To identify the type of shop, the app sends a request to Apple Maps. We neither store your location nor receive it. You can turn off this feature at any time in your profile or in your iOS settings.
2.5 Notifications
Reminders such as the weekly review or the evening reminder are scheduled locally on your device. No third-party push service is used.
2.6 Premium purchases
You buy Premium through Apple’s App Store or Google Play. Payments are handled exclusively by Apple or Google. We do not receive any payment details or your name – only the information whether a purchase is active, and this check takes place on your device. The privacy policies of Apple or Google apply.
2.7 Sharing, reports, and email
Share images and monthly reports (PDF) are created on your device. They are only passed on if you send them yourself using the share function or your email app. Share images never include your hourly rate.
2.8 Permissions
The app only asks for permissions it needs for a feature you use: microphone and speech recognition (voice entry), notifications (reminders), photos (image for a dream goal; only the selected image is stored in the app), and – iPhone only – Location Services (place reminders). You can revoke any permission in your device settings.
2.9 No tracking, no advertising
The app contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking tools, and no third-party software that analyzes how you use it.
3. The website argus.money
3.1 Hosting and server logs
The website and the content for the app are hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. When you visit, the server automatically stores information in log files: IP address, date and time, requested file, amount of data transferred, browser and operating system information, and the previously visited page. This data is used to provide the website securely and reliably and is deleted after a short time. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.
3.2 No cookies, no tracking
The website does not set cookies and does not use any analytics or tracking services. Fonts and images are loaded from our own server; no connections are made to Google Fonts or other third parties. Only your chosen language is saved in your browser’s local storage so that the site appears in the same language on your next visit; this setting never leaves your browser.
4. Contact by email
If you write to us, we process your email address and the content of your message in order to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We delete the message once it has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations require otherwise.
5. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20), and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). An informal email to support@argus.money is all it takes. Since we do not receive the data from the app, you can delete it yourself in the app at any time.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (Bavarian Data Protection Authority), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany.
6. Changes
If the app or the website changes, we will update this privacy policy. The version published here at any given time applies.
